I spent most of the morning finishing my “catch up” in both
Facebook and photo files. We did wake to light rain, but it cleared quickly
here. After a quick lunch we drove through the rural countryside to Kirby. I
experienced the narrow rural roads and homes built almost on the roadside.
Mansions and rambling old cottages and beautiful countryside. Thank goodness
Tim was driving, passing cars and bikes at times in the narrow roads would have
been challenging for me.
Unfortunately our drive was marred by rain, so although
Sarah tells me the coast had hundreds of wind turbines none could be seen,
through the rain and cloud. As we drove home the weather lifted.
We stopped at the local Aldi for some supplies and went home
to put a roast in the oven and go off to the park, so the kids could ride their
bikes. The weather was quite different here. Broken cloud. Cool wind but lovely
in the sun. The Alexandra Park is a great park, very close by, with lots of
great equipment, but also great play area. We left at 5:30 and returned to
home.
Tim mowed and edged the lawn for the first time since their
arrival. Our roast lamb was lovely. The children settled faster tonight and I
had a much earlier night. Bed at 10, only because I couldn’t stay awake any
longer, so the diary and photos will just have to wait till tomorrow.
