Day 12 Shopping
Woke at 6:45, and read until breakfast time. After breakfast
we met our taxi driver and were driven to Wendy’s Silver shop. She had a lovely
collection. Back in the taxi to drive down to ‘his’ silver shop, which was
closed. So it was back to an Emporium, which had a vast amount of tourist type
items. Some cheaper, but some about the same as the shops.
portable ATM. Guard fast asleep. |
From here we drove to the main street for more browsing and
shopping, stopping on the way past to drop off our parcels at the hotel. We
walked around the corner and up a bit to a different restaurant “The Haven”
Delicious food and drinks, but not as cheap as many others.
Next it was back via the video shop, the yoghurt shop, the
fabric store on the corner and home again. Val stopped for a foot massage while
we came home. Sandra and I stopped at the ATM outside the hotel, only for it to
swallow her debit card. I stayed at the machine, while she went in to ask if
they could ring for her. No was the response. So Chris and Sandra tried to get
the card out, to no avail. She was able to use the phone at the office to ring
Australia- cost $10 to do so. But the card is cancelled now.
I caught up on yesterday’s FB page and started downloading
and typing while the mozzies started chewing.
Time to go upstairs and wash my hair. It must be going to
rain soon.
